HOW TO MAKE DHABA STYLE KOLHAPURI AKKHA MASOOR RECIPE / SABUT MASOOR DAL

INGREDIENTS 

1 small bowl whole red lentils
Water as needed
oil for tampering
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 green cardamom
1 tomato
1 onion
4 garlic cloves
ginger
1 tsp garam masala
1 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice



METHOD

1. Take 1 small bowl whole red lentils / masoor dal.
2. Soak it in water for 1/2 hour.


3. Cook it in pressure for 15 minutes with cooker whistle .


4. For making gravy , take 1 tomato , 1 onion , ginger , garlic and cardamoms .


5. Grind it to fine paste.

6. Heat 2 spoons oil for tempering . 
7. Add cumin seeds . let them pop. 
8. Add tomato onion paste in it .
9. Saute well for 2 minutes.
10. Add turmeric powder, salt, garam masala and red chilly powder.
11. Saute well . Let these spices roast nicely.
12. Add already cooked red lentils i.e. masoor dal
13. Add 1 tsp sugar and lemon juice .
14. Mix well.
15. Add 1-4 cup water in it .
16. Cover it with lid and let it cook for 2 more minutes.

DHABA STYLE KOLHAPURI AKKHA MASOOR DISH IS READY TO SERVE 




Serve it hot with roti or jeera rice .
