Onion rings


Homemade crispy Onion Rinds are one of my favorite appetizer - for family events, kids parties, friend's get together and amy more.

 

Ingredients:

1 large size onion
2 tablespoon semolina
1 cup gram flour (Chana Dal flour)
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chilli Powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp baking soda (optional)

Recipe:

1. Cut an onion in such a way that you can make round shaped seperate slices of it.
2. Separate each layer from the slice .

How to make covering batter :

1. Take 1 cup gram flour in a large bowl.
2. Add 2 spoons of semolina, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder,  1/2 tsp baking soda and salt to taste.
3. Add approximately 1/2 cup water and mix it. 4. Keep this covering batter aside for 10 minutes.

Frying Onion Rings:

1. Heat 1 cup of oil in a bowl. The oil should be completely heated, otherwise the rings will not become crispy.
2. Dip onion slice in covering batter.
3. Pu it in heated oil . Deep fry from both sides
5. To remove excess oil, place it on tissue paper.
6. Serve hot Onion Rings with tomato sauce or chutney.


To keep Onion Rings crispy for long time , keep it in air tight container.
