SPINACH PULAO

Spinach pulao is one of the healthy variation of rice pulao. 

Easiest lunch box menu for your kids. 

Sharing here it's recipe with step by step photos !


Ingredients

1 cup basmati cooked rice ( or any rice of your choice)
1 onion sliced horizontally
1/2 tomato chopped
10 fresh spinach leaves
2 garlic cloves
1 green chilly
Salt to taste
Oil for tempering
1 tsp cumin seeds
Fried onions ( optional)


Method :

To make spinach puree

1. Wash fresh spinach leaves.
2. Add 2 garlic cloves and 1 green chilly to spinach.
3. Using a blender, make a fine paste of it .

Tempering rice :

1. Heat oil in a pan for tempering.
2. Add cumin seeds . Let them pop for a second in heated oil.
3. Add thinly sliced onion. Saute till it becomes transparent.
4. Add chopped tomatoes. Let it cook till it becomes soft.


5. Add spinach, garlic, green chilly puree into this pan .
Saute well it watery puree becomes little bit thick. Adjust thickness as per your choice.


6. Once puree cooked nicely , add already cooked rice into it.
Here you can use leftover plain rice also.


7.Add hand full of fried onions . This ingredient is optional . You ca  skip this step if you don't have fried onion ready in your kitchen .
Fried onion gives crispiness to Spinach pulao.


8.Serve it hot with any type of raita or with pickle of your choice.
