Ghavan /Rice Flour Crepes

Gavan is traditional maharashrian recipe from Kokan region .

It is less time consuming , easy to cook. You need basic ingredients for it .

One of the best option for breakfast and kids early morning tiffin .

Ingredients :

1 cup rice flour
2 cups water
Pinch of salt
1 tsp whole jeera
Oil for spreading on pan

Method :

1. Mix rice flour, water, jeera , salt together.
2. Stir it well to become uniform batter.

3 Batter for this should not be thick. Thin batter will take net texture .
4 .  Keep this batter aside for 1/2 hour.
5.  Heat non stick pan on medium flame.
6. Take one onion and cut it half. Dip half part of it in oil.
7. Spread this oil to hot pan with onion. This will make your Ghavan non sticky and will add taste to it .

8. Pour a ladleful of batter on pan. Spread it to thin round shape .
As batter is thin , no need to spread it with flat bottom bowl. You just need to make a round while pouring on pan .

9. Cover it with lit for about 1/2 minute . It will cook with hot pan on down side and with locked vapours inside lit on upper side.
If you forget to cover it , it will not cook properly form upper side . You may find cracks on it .

10. After 1 minute turn it to cook from other side.

12. Serve hot with coconut chutney .
Some of you may like to eat it with tea.

Note :
1. If batter is too thick , you will not get this net type texture. After pouring on pan , it will be plain with cracks on it.

2. If batter is too watery and thin , Ghavsn will.be sticky and unable to turn it to other side .

3. Adjust water amount accordingly.
