KOLHAPURI CHICKEN SUKKA

Kolhapuri chicken sukka is little dry type chicken main course dish .

Authentic Kolhapuri chicken sukka recipe with step by step photos !


Ingredients :
1/2 kg chicken
1 onion chopped
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 spoon red chilly powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 cup dried onions
Chopped fresh coriander leaves

For marination
1/2 cup curd
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste

For gravy
1/4 cup grated coconut dry/ fresh
1/4 cup roasted sesame seeds
4-5 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger
Fried onion 1/2 fresh mint leave 2-3
Fresh coriander leaves hand full
Cashew 3-4 optional
2 green cardamom

How to marinate chicken and cook it ?

Before chicken sukka recipe , you need to marinate your chicken overnight and then need to cook separately.

We are going to add these cooked chicken pieces into chicken sukka gravy.

How to make chicken sukka gravy?


1. Add all ingredients given for gravy
2. Blend it in a blender to make its FINE PASTE .
3. Add water as needed.


 Kolhapuri chicken sukka recipe : 

1.  Heat oil for tampering.
2. Add 1 chopped onion. Saute it till become transparent.
3. Add gravy that we just made
4. Saute it in low flame till it roasts nicely and smells aromatic


5. Add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt to taste.
6. Saute till it roasts.and starts releasing oil



 7. Mix already cooked chicken pieces, handful roasted onion and chopped fresh coriander leaves.


8. Just mix it by moving 3-4 times. Don't move your gravy more after adding cooked chicken .Else pieces may start breaking into gravy as they are cooked .
9. Keep cooking for next 1 minute only in low flame.

10. Kolhapuri chicken sukka is ready to serve. Serve it with Jowar bhakri, roti or chapati.
