🍚JEERA RICE / CUMIN FLAVOURED RICE🍚




INGREDIENTS :
1 cup India gate basamati rice
1 tsp cumin seed
1 bay leaf
1 inch cinnamon
2 cloves
Salt to taste
12 tsp ginger garlic paste
Oil for tempering
1 spoon homemade ghee
For garnishing : Fresh coriander leaves and Mint leaves


METHOD :
1. Wash basamati rice with plenty of water and soak it for 15 minutes.
2. After 15 minutes, remove water out of it .
3. Heat 2 tsp oil for tampering.
4. Add cumin seeds, 2 cloves lawang  , 1 inch cinnamon, 1 bay leaf.
5. Let it pop.
6. Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste. Saute.
7. Add soacked basamati rice in it .
8. Saute well
9. Roast this rice along with spices till it fragrant and becomes light in weight .
10. Add 1 1/2 times BOILED WATER in it . If you are taking 1 cup rice ,you need approximate 1 1/2 cup water . But proportion of water may change with type of rice you are using.
11. Always use warm water. Never add cold / tap water directly in any recipe as it may change taste of your dish .
12. Keep your stove flame high. Let it boil for a minute and then make it medium.
13. Cover it with lid. Let it cook on medium flame .
14. To check if rice cooked completely, press it in between two fingers . There should not be at hard part inside.
15. Once it is cooked completely, add 1 spoon homemade ghee over it . It smells awesome.
16.  Garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves while serving.

Note :
Here I prefer India gate basamati rice as it gives nice flavour and comes out non sticky.
