SABUDANA KHICHADI


Ingredients :

1  cup Sabudana / Soga
1 potato thinly sliced
5 spoons roasted peanuts powder
4 green chilies
1 homemade ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
4-5 curry leaves
Salt and sugar to taste

Method :

1. Wash sabudana in water. Drain it .

2.  Add 1/2 cup water and soak it for 6-7 hours.

3. If you are using instant sabudana, no need to soak it for longer time . Add water in it and soak for 1/2 n hour.

4. Heat 3-4 tsp oil for tampering.

5. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds and curry leaves

6. Let it pop.

7. Add sliced chillies and potatoes.

8. Saute it till potatoes turns golden brown.

9. Add 2 tsp roasted peanuts powder. Saute well.

10. In less than 1/2 minute , add Soga in it. If you saute peanuts powder for longer time, it may burns and changes it colour to dark brown. This burned powder may change your khichadi bitter.

11. Saute it well . Add salt to taste and 1 tsp sugar.

12. Mix it well. Add remaining 3 tap peanuts powder and 1 tsp homemade ghee. Mi well.

13. Cover it with lid . Let it cook for 2 -3 minutes on low to medium flame.

14. Delicious sabudana khichadi is ready. Serve it with curd and lemon pickle.
