MUMBAI PAV BHAJI - Delicious Street Food - One Dish Meal

Pav Bhaji is my favourite dish and it's one of the reason to be happy today.🥰

Pav Bhaji


INGREDIENTS 


oil for tempering 
2 Onions, finely chopped 
Puree of 1 tomato, 2 garlic cloves and 1/2 inch  ginger

Pressure cooker steamed vegetables
3 potatoes 
1/2 cup Cauliflower
1 Capsicum (Green color , Big sized)
1/4 cup Green peas
1 big size carrot
1/4 cup beetroot , peeled

Spices
2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp pav bhaji masala
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
3 tsp butter
Salt to taste

Garnish
finely chopped coriander, finely chopped onion

METHOD 







Preparation 

1. Finely chop 2 big size onions .
2. In a blender make a fine paste of 2 tomatoes , ginger and garlic together.


3. Cook all vegetables listed above in pressure cooker with 2 whistles.

4. Let them cool down .

5. Peel boiled potatoes and mash them with a pav bhaji masher.

6. Mash other remaining vegetables together.

How to make Pav Bhaji ?



1. Heat 4 tsp oil for tempering.

2. Add cumin seeds and 1 chopped onion. Saute till it turns golden brown.

3. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and tomato puree. Saute till it cooks nicely.

4. Add all spices listed above in ingredients . Let them roast nicely with oil . Add salt to taste and 1 tsp sugar. 

5. Add mashed vegetables. Mix it nicely.

6. Add mashed potatoes . Mix it nicely.

7. Mash it all together once again till it get smooth texture.

8.  Add 1 spoon butter . Mix well.

9. Add 1/2 glass warm water.  Mix well.

10. Let pav bhaji cook on medium flame for next 5 minutes.

11. Add handful of chopped coriander . 

12. Mouth watering , spicy MUMBAI PAV BHAJI  is ready to serve.

13. Serve it with butter roasted Ladi pav( soft bun bread ) , chopped onion and fresh lemon.
