Spinach rice is easy , healthy one pot meal loaded with vitamins . Sharing here easy recipe with video and photos !
INGREDIENTS
1 cup rice
frozen spinach cubes or fresh spinach
Salt to taste
2 garlic cloves
1 onion sliced horizontally
1/2 tsp biryani masala
4-5 cashew nuts
FOR TEMPERING
2 spoons oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 cloves
1 bay leaf
1 inch cinnamon
2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
PREPARATION
RICE
1. Wash 1 cup basamati rice.
2. Soak it in water for 20 minutes.
3. Remove excess water.
SPINACH PUREE
1. Take sufficient amount of spinach cubes or fresh spinach leaves.
2. Boil them in water for 2-3 minutes.
3. Remove excess water.
4. Add 2 garlic cloves.
5. Make a fine paste of it .
How to make PRESSURE COOKER SPINACH RICE
1. Heat oil for tempering.
2. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon and 2 cloves.
3. Let it pop.
4. Add thin sliced onion.
5. Saute till it turns transparent
6. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
7. Saute well.
8. Add spinach puree .
9. Mix well.
10. Add 1/2 tsp biryani masala. Mix well.
11. Add 1 cup water. (rice and water ration should be 1:1)
12. Cover it with lid. Let it cook for 5 minutes .
13. Spinach rice is ready .
14. Serve it with curd.
