TRICOLOR RICE FLOWERS | POTATO STUFFED RICE DUMPLINGS | REPUBLIC DAY SPECIAL

 


How to make its stuffing ? 

1. Take 3 big sized potatoes.
2. Add 2 glasses water in pressure cooker.
3. Boil potatoes in pressure cooker with 3 whistles.
4. Let cooker cools down. Once potatoes are cool, peel them
5. Grate them with large size grating .
I avoid here mashing potatoes. Mashing them may left some hard unmanaged small parts. Because of which, your paratha may get a hole.


TEMPERING

1. Heat 1 spoons oil in a pan for tempering.
2. Add pinch of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp red chili powder , ginger garlic paste and cumin seeds
3 . Saute well till it starts releasing aroma.
4. Add grated boiled potatoes.
5. Mix well.
6. Add salt to taste.
7. Take your pan out of gas. We don't want to cook it more.


Colored rice 

1. Take 2 tsp rice in each (three) different bowl.

2. Add pinch of food color of your choice. I am making Tricolor dish on Republic day of India. So I used Saffron ,uncolored white rice and  green.

3. Add 1 tsp water in it. Make sure rice its completely wet. Mix well.

4. Let it soak water for 10 more minutes. It becomes little bit soft.

MAKING RICE FLOWERS

1. Make a small ball of potato stuffing.

2. Roll it in colored , water soaked rice.

3. Press a little bit . Make sure rice is stuck to stuffing.

4. Steam these ball in steamer for 20 minutes .

5. Or use pressure cooker.

Add water at bottom of cooker. Place balls in a cooker pot / idli maker. Don't add water with balls.

Cook it on 3 whistle of cooker. Rice will cook nicely.

6. After cooking rice flower will blossom .
