Milk peda is everyone's favourite, Indian traditional sweet prepared on occasion of festival or celebrations.
You need very few ingredients and less time to cook it. So you can refer this recipe as instant milk peda .
Ingredients:
1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup milk
4 spoons sugar
2 spoon butter/ ghee
Cardamam powder
Almonds / Pista for decoration
Recipe:
1. In a hot non stick pan , add 2 spoons ghee/ butter. Let it melt for some time.
2. Add 1/4 cup of milk and let it boil. Stir it well so that it should not stick to bottom.
3. Add 1 tsp cardamom powder. If you want to use saffron milk for colour and taste, add it now with cardamom.
4. Add 1 cup of milk powder. Before adding milk powder in pan, make sure it should not have any dry lumps in it. If yes , separate it out and make milk powder smooth dry.
Let it cook on medium heat flame . Keep stirring constantly.
5. Let it cook till it stops sticking to pan and come together as a mass.
6. Off your gas flame. If you keep it on gas for more time, it will change its colour to dark brown and will become dry .
7. Take a plate or any plane surface. Spread butter on top of it. Spread this hot milk mixture from pan on it . Roll it with kitchen roller to thickness you want of peda.
8. Keep this plate in fridge for cooling . It will come out as little hard when you remove from fridge.
9. Take a small portion of peda mixture , approximately little bit smaller than lemon .
10. Roll it to peda shape with help of figures and palm.
11. Decorate it with chopped almonds and pista.
12. Keep it in fridge for 10 minutes.
