HEALTHY JOWAR BHAKRI

Jowar bhakri is healthy and ealthy flatbread made with sorghum flour / Jowar flour.

The homely aroma comes from kitchen when you cook Jowar bhakri itself gives you comfortable and homemade feeling. 

Easy recipe of jowar bhakri with step by step photos !


Ingredients :

1 cup jowar flour
1/2 cup warm water
Pinch of salt ( optional )

Method :

1. Mix jowar flour and warm water together.
If jowar flour is older then you need warm water. Else you can use normal water

2. Make a soft dough of it. Dough should not be softer.

3. Spread dry jowar flour on rolling surface / plate.

4. Take a small portion of dough. Roll it to small ball. Keep of spreaded dry flour.

5. Make it round shape by pressing it with fingures and palm .


6. Make your pan hot. If pan is not hot , bhakri will stick to pan.

7. Put round shaped bhakri in a pan. Make sure down side of bhakri should come up side.


8. Apply water on its surface with fingures.


9. Turn it to other side. Let it roast completely.


10. Once roasted take it out of pan. Now only down side it roasted. You need to roast upside too.

11. This unroasted side you directly keep on flame ( without pan )
Make sure you are moving it continuesly to avoid over roasting .

12. Your bhakri puffs nicely.


13. If you have electric gas which doesn't provide flame , you can turn it in pan and roast it. 

14. Serve this bhakri hot with homemade ghee / butter and dry sabzi.
