CRISPY TANDOORI CHICKEN

Chicken Tandoori is Indian popular chicken starter marinated in yogurt plus Indian spices and then grilled.

The name Tandoori comes from clay pot i.e. tandoor in which Chicken Tandoori traditionally prepared.

This spicy, delicious Chicken Tandoori recipe version is grilled in oven comes out with  super crispy skin and mouth watering roasted fragrant !

Ingredients :

6 chicken drumsticks

For marination

1 spoon red chilly powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup yogurt / curd
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 spoon vegetable oil
2 spoon ginger garlic paste

For garnishing

Fresh mint leaves
Fresh coriander leaves

Method :

1. Wash 6 chicken drumsticks under running water.


2.   With a sharp knife , make 2-3 cuts on drumsticks as shown in photo below.
It will help to cook drumsticks nicely and to reach marinate till it's inner layer.
Keep them aside.


 3. For marination , combine red chilly powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander  powder and salt together.


4. Roast them on in s pan low flame till it fragrant.


5. Add 2 spoons ginger garlic paste.
Add 1/ 4 cup yogurt  .
Add lemon juice and vegetable oil.


6. Mix it well. Don't add water in it.


8. Put chicken drumsticks in just made marination gravy .

9. Toss it with marinate . Make sure all drumsticks coated nicely with marinate gravy .

Keep it in fridge overnight or at least 3-4 hours to marinate .


10 . After keeping in overnight , remove it from fridge. Keep it at room temperature for 1/2 an hour .
Preheat oven at 189 °C . Cover down side of grill rack with aluminium foil . Grace this rack with vegetable oil.

Arrange chicken pieces on it as shown below.


11. Keep this grill rack in oven .

Bake it for first 10 minutes at 180°C.
Selecting bake option will help to cook chicken pieces from inside.


12. After 10 minutes , change oven settings to GRILL at 180°C.

Oven settings are shown in below photo. This may differ from oven to oven.

Roast marinated chicken drumsticks for 10 minutes or till it turns golden brown.


13. After roasting nicely from one side, turn it downside to roast from other side.


14. Roast till it turns brown and it's skin becomes crispy.


15. Garnish it with onion rings , fresh coriander, mint leaves .

Serve this with lemojn juice and mango chutney.
