GREEN PEAS PULAO


Ingredients:

1 cup biryani rice
1/2 cup boiled green peas
1 tsp cumin seeds
Cinaman
2 Cloves
2 Green cardamom
1 Bay leaf
1 spoon ginger garlic paste ( optional )
1 spoon biryani masala
1/2 tsp red chilly powder
Salt to taste
Oil for tampering
1 onion chopped
1 1/2 cup warm water
Chopped handful of coriander leaves
Chopped handful of mint leaves
1 spoon homemade ghee
Fried onion 1/2 bowl

Method :

1. Wash 1 cup biryani rice with water. Remove excess water from it. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
2. In a large cooking pot , heat oil for tampering.
3. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds. Let it pop.
4. Add bay leaf, cinaman, cloves and green cardamom.
5. Add chopped onion . Saute well till it become transparant. Add 1 spoon biryani masala, red chilly powder and salt to taste.
6. Add 1 spoon ginger garlic paste. Saute well.
7. Add boiled green peas. Mix it well.
8. Add handful of washed chopped mint leaves. Saute well
9. Add biryani rice . Roast it well till you feel it lighter in weight.
10. Add 1 1/2 cup warm water . Add salt to taste. Mix well.
11. Cover it. Let it cook.on medium flame
12. Add 1 spoon homemade ghee when rice cooked 90% . Keep it covered till it cook perfect.
13. To check if rice cooked perfectly or not , try to press it between two fingers. You should not feel any hard particle of rice on your finger.
14. Once it is cooked, add chopped coriander and handful.of fried onion .Mix well.
15. Green peas pulo is ready.
16. Serve it hot with raita. Sprinkle fried onion on it.
