Zucchini with daal

 


INGREDIENTS

1 Zucchini

1 chopped onion 

2 spoons Tur Daal ( yellow lentils)

Oil for tempering

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chilli powder

Salt to taste


PREPARATION

1. Soak 2 spoons yellow lentils in water for 1 hour. 

2. After soaking, remove excess water.

3. Peel the Zucchini and cut into cubes. Wash with water.

4. Chop one onion.


HOW TO MAKE ZUKINI SABZI WITH DAAL ? 

1. Heat 2 spoons oil for tempering.

2. Add chopped onion. Saute well till it turns golden.

3. Add water soaked Tur Daal ( yellow lentils). Saute well. 

4.Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder. 

5. Saute well.

6. Add chopped Zucchini. Saute well.

7. Add 1 tsp red chili powder, salt to taste.

8. Saute well

9. Add 1/2 bowl warm water. Close with lid. Let it cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.

10. Generally Zucchini needs less water to cook. It should become little bit soft to eat.

11. Zucchini Sabzi with daal is ready to serve.

12. Serve with steamed rice or roti.
