For 10 thalipeeth
INGREDIENTS :
2 cup Jowar flour
1 cup of wheat flour
1/2 gram flour
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp cumin powder and coriander powder each
Pinch of asefotida (hung)
1/2 cup grated cucumber
1 chopped onion
METHOD :
THALIPEETH DOUGH
1. Add all ingredients together.
2. Add hot water as required. Knead soft dough.
3. Rest it for 10 minutes.
Hot water avoids cracking of thalipeeth edges.
HOW TO MAKE THALIPEETH?
1. Spread clean plastic sheet.
2. Take a small portion of dough. Roll it to ball.
3. Apply some oil to your palms and plastic sheet.
4. Spread dough ball with fingers to make circular thalipeeth. It should be medium thick. Make a small hole in between thalipeeth.
5. Heat pan. Apply oil over it.
6. Place thalipeeth carefully over heated pan.
7. Apply some oil. Cover it and cook for 1 minute on medium flame.
8. Turn it to other side and roast from that side too.
9. Serve hot thalipeeth with curd, butter and garlic chutney.
