Matar Paneer

Serve this tasty Indian meal dish made with green peas and cottage cheese / paneer with various aromic spices and awesome flavour.



Ingredients :
1 cup green peas
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 spoons oil for tempering
Paneer 10 small cubes
Salt to taste
1 tsp Sugar
1 spoon red chili powder
1 tsp garam masala (optional)

For making its gravy

1 onion
1 tomato
2 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger
4-5 cashew nuts
1 green cardamom

PREPARATION: 

1. Heat 2 spoons oil in a pan.

2. Roast Paneer pieces till it turns golden brown. This will give nice taste to Paneer n will make it soft.
Or you can add directly without roasting.


3. Keep them aside to mix it in gravy.

4.  Grind onion, tomato, ginger, garlic , cardamom, cashew nuts into fine paste.

5. Heat oil for tempering.

6. Add 1 tsp cumin seed . Let them pop.

7. Add onion tomato paste .Roast it well

8. Add red chilli powder, salt , sugar and garam masala.

9. Roast well.

10. Add green peas and 1/2 cup warm water . Cover pot with lid. Let this gravy cook for 3 minutes.

11. Add roasted Paneer .

12. Mix well. Let it cook with gravy.

13. Adjust thickness as per your choice.

14. Matar Paneer is ready to serve.

15. Serve it hot with Nan ( Indian bread )  or rice.
